CODA Opens Third World-Class Training Facility

-Gymnastics complex boosts podium potential for Canadian athletes-

Calgary-Canada's winter and summer athletes received a major boost Friday when CODA and the Calgary Gymnastics Centre officially opened a state-of-the-art gymnastics complex at Canada Olympic Park.

The $1.8 million training complex is the third new facility opened at the Park since CODA launched its new vision in 2001 focused on developing the country's first Canadian Centre of Sport Excellence.

The 28,000-square-foot complex was designed to support training for gymnastics and multiple winter sports including: freestyle skiing; snowboarding; ski jumping; alpine skiing; luge; bobsleigh and skeleton. The complex is the new home of the former Mount Royal Gym Club, which offers recreational and competitive training and development to more than 4000 children and youth each year.
