Prefontaine wins bronze in freestyle ski NorAm. Le May Doan named Lou Marsh Award recipient. Lueders finishes 4th to maintain World Cup ranking. Olympians and Paralympians on hand to open "Blood Sweat and Cheers" exhibit at COP. Hamilton wins right to be bid city for 2010 Commonwealth Games.

*Athlete Results: Auch retires from speed skating after 5 Olympics. Alpine development team continues to impress with podium finishes. Wotherspoon wins 40th World Cup victory for third most of all time. Canadian water polo women win bronze at FINA world cup. Scott in good World Cup standing. Europeans continue to dominate bobsleigh World Cups. Hamilton wins right to be Canada's bid city for 2010 Commonwealth Games.

December 3 - December 9, 2002
*Athlete Results: Three Canadian women make top 15 in alpine World Cup. Wotherspoon wins two gold, Le May Doan wins bronze in spped skating World Cup. Canadian swimmers bring home hardware from US. Silver medal for Canadian freestyler in World Cup. 10 medals including relay gold for short trackers in World Cup. Jr. and Sr. cross country skiiers excelling in early season. Canadian skeleton women sweep World Cup medal podium, men claim 3rd, 4th, 5th.

November 24 - December 2, 2002
*Athlete Results: Myden announces official retirement from swimming. Calgary luger makes history with bronze medal. Lueders and Zardo win silver at bobsleigh World Cup. Short track speed skaters bring home hardware. Calgarians earn titles at 2002 Nationals. Shewfelt wins 6th gymnastics World Cup medal. Austrians dominate men's alpine World Cup at Lake Louise.

November 18- November 24, 2002
*Athlete Results: Double gold and double silver for Calgary skeleton athletes. Klassen wins third gold at World Cup. Forsyth and Janyk earn top 10 finishes in alpine World Cup. Albrecht and Pothier finish fourth in luge World Cup. Bobsleigh World Cup results and an update from Cross Country Canada on athlete performance.

*Athlete Results: Pure Determination Fund recipients announced. Klassen wins double gold at speed skating World Cup. Scott wins John Semmelink award for skiing. 2002/2003 bobsleigh and skeleton teams announced. Canada 4th at Thetis Cup water polo tournament. Power wins YMG Capital Canadian Classic squash tournament. Rogge reluctant to chop sports from Olympics.

*Athlete Results: Klassen wins gold and bronze at speed skating World Cup. Scott wins 10km skate race at Continental Cup. Canadian gymnasts cap Pan Am meet with 10 medals. Calgary luge athletes slide to gold at Canadian Championships. Canada captures 2002 4 Nations Cup Hockey Tournament. Alpine Canada announces alliance and support for CCOE. VISA renews their Olympic Sponsorship.

*Athlete Results: Jeltkov and Shewfelt bring home gold from gymnastics World Cup; Power eliminated from Qatar Squash open in quarterfinals; Gill wins bronze at professional judo tournament; Anderson places 11th in parallel slalom at snowboarding world cup; Vancouver 2010 committee antes up with Olympic bid.

October 21- October 27, 2002
*Athlete Results: Tremblay wins gold and Canada wins second consecutive Men's relay gold at short track speed skating World Cups; Shewfelt and Jeltkov win gold at gymnastics World Cup; National Team selections for mountain bike Pan Am Championships place 6 athletes to represent Canada in Santiago, Chile Nov. 1-3; First international athletes forum concludes two days of constructive discussions on the fight against doping in sport.

October 15 - October 20, 2002
*Athlete Results: Two bronze for Canada at gymnastics world cup; Canada finishes ninth at women’s world team squash championships; Canadian gold medal rush at pan am canoe and kayak championships; one gold and three bronze for Canada at short track speed skating world cup; Dupree-Healy and Tshidind win gold at the Timex 2002 Canadian road race championships.
